Syntonic Light Therapy uses specific wavelengths of light through the eyes to improve visual function, balance the nervous system, and support overall well-being.

How Syntonic Light Therapy Works

Syntonics, also called optometric phototherapy, involves directing selected colors and frequencies of light into the eyes. These lights are absorbed by the retina and transmitted to the brain, influencing visual pathways and regulatory centers. This process can balance the autonomic nervous system, improving the interaction between the sympathetic (“fight or flight”) and parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) systems, which helps the body achieve a state conducive to healing and relaxation.

Patients wear goggles with colored filters, typically using two colors at a time, chosen based on their specific condition. For example, blue or violet light stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, aiding focus and near-vision tasks, while red light can stimulate the sympathetic system.  Treatments usually last around 10–20 minutes and are administered under the guidance of a trained neuro-optometrist or syntonics-certified optometrist.
